Tallus Blue Water Conventional Rods Recommended Uses
- TLC60XHA
This rod is designed for heavy lifting and heavy bottom fishing for large fish or in deep water. The EVA rear grip is comfortable when placed under the arm when deep-water jigging and the slow, parabolic Fast-action bend gives an angler the greatest mechanical advantage over heavy fish holding in depths up to 300 feet. This rod is well suited for heavy braids and ideal for fishing with heavy bucktails or wreck fishing with bait for big groupers. Use it with a Trinidad® 20, Trinidad 30, Trinidad 40, Trinidad 40N or Torium® 30 reel with 30- to 60-lb. mono or 100- to 150-lb. braid.

This is an extra-extra-heavy power version of a grouper-digging, deep-jigging and heavy bottom fishing rod. It’s for heavy lifting and heavy bottom fishing for large fish or deep water. Use it with a Trinidad® 20, Trinidad 30, Torium® 30, Trinidad 40 or Trinidad 40N reel with 60- to 80-lb. mono or 100- to 150-lb. braid.

Use it with a Trinidad® 16, Torium® 16 or TLD® 15 reel with 14- to 25-lb. mono or 30-lb. braid.

This rod has the requisite length and power to effectively cast plugs or jig with bucktails for deep-water fluke when using a Tekota® 700 or Torium® 20 reel. It’s also a great live-bait rod and a powerful bottom-fishing rod for large snappers in deep water (up to 200 feet) when used with a Trinidad® 20, Torium 20, Trinidad 30 or Torium 30 reel with 17- to 30-lb. mono or 40- to 65-lb. braid. The Medium-Fast-action tip casts large plugs to striped bass or schoolie tuna yet has added strength in the butt for heavy lifting when fishing from drift boats in deep water for tautogs, red grouper and mutton.

This is a heavy-power version of a live-bait or bottom-fishing rod for large snappers in deep water (up to 200 feet). This specialty, medium-slow-action rod was built specifically for heavy-duty charter- and commercial-style bottom fishing when used with a Trinidad® 40, Trinidad 50, TLD® 25 or Tekota® 700 reel with 25- to 40-lb. mono or 50- to 200-lb. braid. It’s also a great South-Florida-style bridge-fishing rod for snook, grouper and tarpon. Built with heavy duty, Wire Snake guides that will not fail under repeated heavy use, it’s designed for lifting heavy loads, pulling heavy fish away from structure and “slinging” fish into a boat or onto a bridge or pier. It can also be used as a wireline rod for North-Jersey-style striper fishing or a medium-heavy cod- or bottomfishing rod when used with a TLD 25, Torium® 30 or Tekota 700 reel.
